The Salesfloor Died of COVID
Jack was an SDR making cold calls and running call blitzes with his fellow reps in the office. Then covid hit. Jack and his team were forced into a remote environment where the only way to connect was over Zoom. The energetic buzz of the sales floor was dead. No longer could you dial with a teammate or get feedback on a call. Lonely and isolated, Jack began to burn out. He then moved into an SDR Management role where he oversaw a team of remote reps. The same issues he had as an SDR in a remote office came back tenfold as an SDR Manager.Nothing Worked
Struggling to unite the team and spending hours a week trying to call coach using recordings and delayed feedback was awful. He started gathering his team on Zoom, wanting his reps to be face to face knowing that community and live coaching would help them feel supported. But, Zoom didn’t work. Muting, unmuting, tweaking audio settings…these remote call blitzes were broken. His team ended up not sharing their call audio, but instead, just sitting silently on Zoom together so at least they weren’t alone. Remote work is amazing, but what a company saves in overhead, it loses in connectivity, production, and morale. And what the sales rep saves in comfort, convenience, and commuting expenses they lose in community, collaboration, and coaching.CallBlitz Was Born
With remote work as the future, Jack knew there had to be a better way. He met Steve and Jim to discuss the issue, both experts in the sales field familiar with coaching and the challenges SDR teams face. With an idea mapped out, Jack met Markus online after Markus was intrigued by the challenge of completely revamping the way remote SDR teams work.
